Alchemical Somatic Fields - Course Agreements

I consent to the receiving of healing work (virtual or in-person) in the Alchemical Somatic Fields training.  I understand that the basic purpose of this course is learning re-regulation of fields.  Giving as much notice as possible, I understand that I can say No to, or modify, any demo, session, or exchange, as "student," "facilitator," "seeker," "representative," or "witness."

I understand that it is not a function of this class to diagnose any health conditions, or to prescribe.  

Any information shared with me is educational in nature.  Practice sessions and demos are not meant to take the place of medical, chiropractic, psychiatric, or psychotherapeutic consultation.  

I understand that the instructors, assistants, and my classmates cannot make any promises or guarantees with regard to healing specific health challenges.

I take full adult responsibility for my well-being during and after the current training, including movement exercises, and fields demos, sessions, and exchanges.  I am in good enough physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual condition, and can participate in the current training.

I understand that it is recommended that all persons here be in relationship (before, during and after courses) with trusted healthcare providers, and that the instructors are not available to provide individual sessions during Modules. The assistants may be available before, during (outside of class time), and after trainings for sessions. Scheduling with them proactively is recommended. Alchemical Somatic Fields is not responsible for the conditions and outcomes of individual and group therapeutic processes, as much as we might desire to endorse each participant for their brilliance.

I agree that I will not give feedback to another person without negotiating their permission. I will use “I statements,” and I will honor the boundaries that are set. I agree to keep anonymous and confidential other students’ process and sharing unless given explicit permission by the other students.

I understand that Alchemical Somatic Fields is a mindfully inclusive community, and may include members of groups (variety of cultures, genders, sexual orientation, races and more) with whom I have not had much regular intimate experience. I commit to rising to a higher level of cultural competence consciousness in holding space for and receiving classmates’ shared information, as well as in my own sharings, in practice rooms or the large group. 

I understand that in order to raise the level of the group interactions, I may be asked to learn more about certain aspects of cultural competence before returning to another Module.

In class, I will work within the scope of practice of the material taught in class. After class, I will represent myself as a “student” or “graduate” of Alchemical Somatic Fields. I understand that the certificate of participation does not grant licensing to practice therapeutic work. I will continue to work within the scope of practice determined by governing bodies to which I am responsible, and become aware of my local laws.

Other than previously publicly available information, I understand that spoken, written, and recorded information provided as part of the Alchemical Somatic Fields training - including all visuals and graphics (including but not limited to maps), handouts, documents and images, remain the intellectual property and copyrighted material of Alchemical Somatic Fields, and as such any requests to copy, reproduce, publish, teach, share, etc. may only occur with express written permission. Once written permission has been given, I agree to give credit to the lineage from which I learned the material.

I give permission for information and/or recordings from my experiences to be used, keeping me anonymous, in the instructors' and assistants' personal supervision sessions, and educational material they present.

I have been informed that in this kind of workshop consent-based touching and holding at right distance may occur and are considered healing and therapeutic. I agree to not touch others with sexual intent and not to invite sexual touching from others.

There may be fluctuation in enrolled students or assistants, as re-taking students may join to revisit course material. The instructors will do their best to ensure the harmonic nature of each group. Some class recordings may be shared at the instructors' discretion, for example to bring future classmates or assistants up to speed with theoretical and practical course material. These may also be shared with other teaching team members for training purposes. 

I understand that mind-altering substances (plants, drugs, alcohol) are not to be used during class. Because a foundational part of this work involves developing increasing capacity for perceptual awareness and also because some classmates may hold early attachment injuries involving substance use/abuse, I agree to show up as present as possible without the use of recreational drugs or mind altering substances during the days I attend the training. I understand that Alchemical Somatic Fields practices can themselves be mind-altering, and that I am responsible for my own stabilization and a return to common sense before such things as driving or making life-altering decisions. 

I understand that this training should not be relied upon as one's main source of individual or group therapy, shadow work, process workshops, conflict resolution, or professional supervision (even though each of those may at times happen during the program). While some such support is available during the training, it is recommended that students come with, or develop while here, many layers of such support.

I note that this course is full of theory and practical tools - it is not intended to teach a foundation of business skills or practice development.

I understand that full tuition payment is due before or at the beginning of class, or according to our monthly tuition agreement. If I need to change or cancel my participation, I am aware of the cancellation and refund policy stated on the course website and application I submitted. 

I will treat the class as a learning environment and will not sell my products or services during class, or add participants to my mailing list without their explicit request.

I agree to hold Alchemical Somatic Fields, the teachers, assistants, and classmates, Zoom and/or the training location harmless with regard to any injury, liability, or loss I may incur as a result of attending this training.

I will not leave the workshop during workshop hours, with the intent of not returning for the day or Module, without first consulting with and/or informing the teaching team directly.

If I need to miss any part of a class, I understand that I am responsible to make up the missed segment(s). This would include any or all of the following: watching the videos, scheduling peer exchanges, participating in Integration Circles, arranging tutorials, and/or engaging the assistants or teachers in sessions with regard to the missed segment(s). 

The teaching team reserves the right to ask students to pause their studies and join a future cohort, or re-take any Module before continuing.

Attending any Module includes the agreement to honor the points in this document in that and subsequent Modules.
